Positive ruminations

Have you been ruminating on something negative that happened?
.
.
.
.

Have you been constantly thinking of that difficult event, replaying every single detail over and over again in your head?
.
.
.
.

Research shows that this could actually re-traumatise you.

Instead

🔺Try to think of an element of strength, of resilience.

🔺Turn it into a positive phrase, for example “I am resilient!”, “I have personal strength!”.

🔺Repeat that phrase as often as possible throughout the day.

🔺When the affirmation becomes habitual, the negative emotional charge will be gradually removed from the memory.
